This is a typical picture card view. In the background you can see castle Giebichenstein. From there duke Ludwig II escaped by jumping from the tower into the river. That is why he is called "Ludwig the Jumper". You might believe it or not, but that is how the story is told.
Well, I have to confess that the red tram is missing on the picture. So if you want to have the complete picture, you have to come to Halle and either buy a picture card or take your camera and make the shot. However, this means waiting till clouds, cars, tram, and light all form a perfect scene.
